What is a Manufacturer's Representative?
Manufacturer Representatives are independent professional providers of field sales and marketing services to manufacturers. We typically handle a portfolio of related but noncompetitive product lines, working under a contractual agreement within a defined geographical territory, on an exclusive basis within our assigned areas of responsibility.

Our History
H V Sales Co., Inc was founded in 1984 as a result of a merger of Adley Enterprises of Shreveport, LA, organized in 1974 by Roy Adley, and Emery Sales of Memphis, TN, organized by George Emery in 1982.

The current owners are Robert L. Reeves who purchased Roy Adley’s 50% ownership in August of 1987 and Thomas E. Williams who purchased George Emery’s 50% ownership in May of 1988. The corporate office of H V Sales was relocated to Baton Rouge from Shreveport in August of 1987.

From 1988 to 1992 H V Sales operated with the Baton Rouge, LA and Memphis, TN offices with Bonnye Reeves located in Baton Rouge as Office Manager and Inside Sales Support. The territory covered by H V Sales was Louisiana, Mississippi, West Tennessee and Arkansas. Our Mission Statement was and is “to grow by providing the best possible service to our customers and support to our Principles by attention to detail and communications. We endeavor to represent the highest quality manufacturers across our entire territory and commit our resources to provide a synergy to obtain the highest possible market share for our Manufacturer’s products."

In 1992, John Hamberlin joined H V Sales as Inside Sales Support and Administration. John came to H V Sales after retiring from BASF with 35 years of experience in Production & Quality Assurance. John’s experience at BASF proved to be very valuable in providing inside sales support to our customers and manufacturers. John retired from H V Sales in 1999.

In 1993 Chris Crick was employed to add additional emphasis to the industrial market in South Louisiana and was located in the Baton Rouge office. We added several manufacturers to our responsibility for the industrial market during this time. Chris has since left the Company to pursue other interests.

In 1995, as a result of the acquisition of MagneTek Electric by General Signal that added to our responsibility the Goldsboro Transformer Manufacturing Plant, we employed Don Mackenroth and opened an office in New Orleans, LA. Don was responsible primarily for the Public Power Market in South Louisiana and South Mississippi with Distributor responsibility for industrial and commercial markets. Don passed away in December of 2006. The New Orleans Office was closed upon Don’s passing.

In 1998, the inside sales support requirements had grown to the extent that additional help was required. Tammy Cottrell was employed in 1998 as Inside Sales Assistant and has been a great asset to the company.

In 1999 we were asked by Saft America to consider opening an office in Houston, Texas to assume the responsibility for the sale of battery, charger and UPS products in the South Texas territory. The Houston office was opened in December 1999 with the employment of David Hood. David was previously with Saft America and because of his intimate knowledge of the products, our business has increased at an exceptional rate and has expanded to include the entire state of Texas.

In August of 2004, Jim Clinkscales joined the H V Sales Team and an office was opened in Hattiesburg, MS. Jim was previously with Howard Industries in Laurel, MS and most recently South Central Region Territorial Manager for Waukesha Electric Systems. Jim is responsible for the Public Power Market in South Mississippi and Industrial/Commercial Accounts in Mississippi, North Louisiana and South Arkansas. Jim left H V Sales Co in 2011 to pursue other interests.

Jason Giroir joined H V Sales in January 2006 as an Account Manager in the Baton Rouge Office. Jason was previously with Jacobs Engineering in Baton Rouge and is responsible for the Industrial/Commercial Market in South Louisiana.

In November of 2006, Sam Shouse joined the H V sales team as an Account Manager and opened the Birmingham, AL Office. Sam was previously Sales and Marketing Manager for Waukesha Electric Systems, High Voltage Supply Division. Sam was also Director of Operations for Power Resources and Field Application Engineer and Regional Manager for Waukesha Electric Systems, South Central Region. Sam is responsible for the Multi Year Blanket Circuit Breaker Contract with TVA and Industrial/Commercial Accounts in Alabama, Georgia, and North Florida.

We continue to look for areas of growth that will add to the existing synergies of our manufacturers and resources. We continue to invest in training and technologies that will keep H V Sales Company on the leading edge of providing service to our customers.
